Author’s note 2: The following was inspired by and based on the talented Arkham-Insanity’s “Chibi Prussia Diaries,” specifically page 39, which can be found here: http://arkham-insanity.deviantart.com/art/Chibi-Prussia-Diaries-039-294697016 If you haven’t read them, I recommend you check out her work.

Prussia, saddened by the fact that his army of chicks had left him, decided to take matters into his own hands. He would find some eggs, sit on them like a mother bird and hatch out his own army. He searched high and low when finally he discovered it, a treasure trove of eggs, otherwise known as the chicken coop. The only thing stopping him was the mean old rooster and a bunch of stupid hens. Using all the stealth he possessed, Prussia crept closer and closer to the henhouse.

When he reached the chicken coop, Prussia crawled inside. He stood up, his heart beating wildly in his chest as several of the hens eyed him suspiciously. He crept closer to one and she squawked at him when he stuck his hand under her and tried to peck him, but he managed to avoid it. Pulling his hand out from under her, he held a warm chicken egg in his hand. Prussia cackled triumphantly as he held it aloft. Embolden by his success, Prussia managed to repeat the process and come away with another egg. Clutching his eggs tightly to his chest, he carefully left the henhouse so as not to break them. From there it was easy to leave.

On the way home, Prussia met up with his friends, Spain and France. “Hey! Look what I got!” he cried, proudly showing off his eggs. “I’m going to hatch them and raise an army!”

His friends looking suitably impressed, Prussia began to tell them about his plans for his army. “I’m going to start with these two and then when they hatch, I’ll get two more and when hatch two more…”

“Yeah! It’s gonna be so awesome! Can’t you just see me leading a great army of chicks into battle?” Prussia smirked. “The first thing I’m gonna do is kick Hungary’s and Austria’s arses! Now that I have an army of chicks, I’ll be so awesome, I’ll be invincible!”

“Anyway… I’d better go, I have to go hatch these eggs.”

“Bye, Prussia!”

“Bye!” And with that, Prussia continued on his way. When he arrived at home, Prussia made a beeline for Vati’s favorite chair as it was the best one in their house. Vati’s chair was soft and comfy, and Prussia gently laid the eggs on it. “Don’t worry, men! I’m going to warm you up in a sec!” He climbed onto the chair and sat on the eggs. It felt a bit weird, but Prussia was determined to hatch out an army, so he sat there. After what had felt like years, but was only ten, fifteen minutes, he started getting bored. Prussia wondered how long he was going to have to sit there, doing nothing. Five more long, drawn out minutes passed when he reached his breaking point. Taking a deep breath, he shouted, “VATI!!”

Germania groaned. He was in the middle of making dinner, when his eldest called out. Putting the knife, he was using to chop vegetables, down; Germania wiped his hands and went to go see what the problem was. He walked into the main living area and saw Prussia sitting in his favorite chair. “Prussia, I told you not to yell like that in the house.”

“Yeah, okay. Ummm…Vati? How long does it take to hatch eggs?” Prussia looked up at him expectantly.

Germania frowned. “About three weeks, why?”

“Yeah? It really takes that long?” Prussia said, surprise at his father’s answer clearly seen on his face.

Germania resisted the urge to rub tiredly between his eyes. “Really.”

“Oh,” Prussia hopped down out of the chair. “Well, I can’t sit on those eggs for that long. I’ll have to think of some other way of keeping them warm.” He turned around to look at the eggs, surprised to see them a crushed mess. “Vati?”

Germania let out a long suffering sigh as he tried to rein in his anger and failed miserably. “Prussia, what am I going to do with you?!”

Prussia gulped. He gave a quick look over his shoulder, saw the look on his father’s face and as much as he wanted to hightail it out of there, he ran over to him. Hugging his legs, Prussia started to cry. “I just wanted to raise an army… And I told my friends and they thought it was awesome and...” He sniffled. “I thought if I sat on them like their Mutti…”

Germania patted him on the head, his anger gone. “For one thing, Prussia, you mustn’t count your chickens before they hatch, for another, sitting on eggs is a job best left to their mother.”

“So you’re not mad and you’re not going to spank me…?”

“That’s another thing I wouldn’t count on,” Germania said. “Now go wash up.”

“Yes, Herr Vater!” Prussia scampered off to go do as he was told, leaving Germania to stand there and shake his head at him.
