Summary/Preview: Luigi and his friend Wolfgang go out cruising for chicks…
Author’s note: I went with cruise as a verb, rather than its other use as a noun as in a trip by ship.
“Let’s go cruising for chicks,” Luigi said as he picked up his beer. He drank some and set the bottle down. He beamed at his friend. “It’ll be fun!”
Wolfgang frowned as he sipped his beer. “What are you, sixteen again?” He arched his eyebrow as he heaved a long suffering sigh.
Luigi snorted with laughter. “What are you? A hundred and ninety two?” he smirked.
“No, but I’m too old to be chasing skirts.” Wolfgang sipped his beer again.
“Please, you’re never too old to enjoy the ladies! So wadda ya say? We go cruising or what?” Luigi finished his beer.
“You’re not going to leave me alone until I say ‘yes,’ right?”
“Fine, we’ll go cruising.” Wolfgang finished his beer. He got up from the kitchen table to go get his keys.
“I knew you’d say ‘yes.’ It’s a hot summer night, so the chicks’ll be wearing those skimpy lil short shorts or maybe those legging thingies that hug every curve!” Luigi sighed as images of barely dressed young women danced in his head. “You won’t regret it!” he said as he trailed after his friend.
“Why do I feel like I already do?” Wolfgang stuffed his wallet in his back pocket.
Luigi laughed. “You’re such a geezer.”
Wolfgang shook his head. “Let’s go.”
“I knew you’d see it my way! I’m glad you decided to have some fun!”
“It’ll be fun alright, watching them turn us down.”
They left the house and got into Wolfgang’s car. He drove to the center of town and as they cruised up and down the streets, Luigi would call out to the girls they saw. Just as Wolfgang predicted, they turned them down, but he had to admit, it was still fun. Besides, he had not felt that young in years.
