Pashmina loved Sinterklass as much as his patron, Alex did. Since they never celebrated it in his old brothel, the Kitten went from being in the thick of the preparations to running the whole thing much to Alex’s amusement. He sat back in the chair by the fireplace, pretending to read his book, but all the while, he was watching as Pashmina directed the decorating of the tree that was placed next to one of windows.

“Here’s another garland of fruit,” Pashmina said as he handed it to one of the downstairs maids. “Why don’t you give it to Mattias and ask him to hang it on the top of the tree.”

“Yes, ma’am.” The maid scurried off to do as she was bidden.

“Dirk, did you hang the evergreen boughs in the front hall over the door? Careful, with those ornaments, Maria! What is it, Wolfie?”

“Was there anything you wanted me to add to tomorrow night’s menu?”

Pashmina frowned as he thought it over. “Can’t think of a thing,” he told the cook, who nodded, before heading back to the kitchen.

Alex chuckled softly to himself. Not even his beloved Irina, also a former Kitten, was this crazy about the holiday.

“What’s so funny?”

Alex looked up from his book to see his beloved standing before him. “Nothing…”

Pashmina raised an eyebrow.

Alex groaned. “You, okay? Each year, you get more and more into decorating for the holidays. I doubt even the king or my ‘cousin’ Noblesse is this into it.”

“And that’s a bad thing?”

Alex marked his place and set his book aside. He held out his hands. “Not at all.” He smiled.

Pashmina smiled back at him and sat in his lap. “Good! Now, we need to discuss the winter ball and--” The rest of his words were swallowed up in Alex’s kiss, not that he minded. If that kiss was anything to go by, Alex had other things on his mind. As far as Pashmina was concerned they were more important and decking the chateau’s halls could wait…
